Definition

Legacies are the groups of works which have been incorporated into the CSIC collection by virtue of an agreement brought about by a legal document which regulates their status and legal conditions of custody.

This section is constituted by a group of legacies contributed by the old Central and General libraries and the Institute of History library of CSIC.

The names of the legacies, the libraries which contributed them and the acronyms by which they are recognized are:

  • BC: Gonzalo de Calella, CAL. Justo Gonzalo, JG. Juan Roger, ORI. Redonet, R. Rodríguez Marín, RM
  • EH: Lafora, LAF.

Presentation in the catalogue

  • Collection: Legados
  • Signature: They maintain the original call number, the acronyms of the libraries of origin and the name of the legacies:
    • Library + initials of the legacy + original call number
    • Ej.: BC RM RM/25 (document legado Rodríguez Marín)

Consultation conditions

  • Request and borrowing through librarians
  • E-requests by e-booking in advance
  • Consultation of the works in a special room
  • Borrowing servives in office for readers category 05 who are CCHS staff
